Common Questions

Straightforward answers to the things people ask us most.

About the Application

Is this going to affect my credit score?
No. When you apply through us, we run a soft credit check. That's the kind that doesn't show up on your credit report and doesn't change your score. The only time a hard inquiry happens is after you've looked at an offer from a dealership and decided to move forward with it.
How long does it take to fill out?
The form itself takes about 2 to 3 minutes. After that, most people hear back within a few hours. If you apply during business hours, same-day responses are pretty common.
Does this cost anything?
Nothing. Our service is completely free to use. There's no application fee, no subscription, and no fine print. We're paid by the dealerships in our network, not by you.
Do I have to accept an offer if I get one?
Absolutely not. You can review any offer and walk away with no obligation. There's no pressure and no contract just from applying.

Credit and Eligibility

I have bad credit. Can you actually help me?
Yes, and we want to be straight with you: this is the main thing we do. Our dealership partners work specifically with people who've been turned down by banks. Bankruptcy, consumer proposals, collections, repossessions. If you have a job and some income, there's a good chance we can find something that works.
I was already declined somewhere else. Is it worth applying?
Yes. Banks and credit unions use different standards than the dealers in our network. Getting declined at a bank doesn't mean you'll be declined here. A lot of our customers come to us after being turned away elsewhere and end up approved.
I don't have any credit history at all. Does that count against me?
Not necessarily. Having no credit is different from having bad credit. We work with lenders who are specifically set up for first-time borrowers and for newcomers to Canada who haven't had time to build a local credit file yet.
I'm self-employed. Can I still apply?
Yes. Some lenders are trickier when it comes to self-employment income, but we have partners who are comfortable with it. You may be asked to show bank statements or tax documents to verify income, which is pretty standard.

Vehicles and Financing

What kinds of vehicles can I finance through this?
Cars, SUVs, trucks, minivans. New and used. Our network includes dealerships across Canada so there's usually a solid selection depending on your area. You can mention what you're looking for in the application and we'll factor that in when matching you.
Can I trade in my current vehicle even if I still owe on it?
Yes. We can work out the trade-in value of your current car and apply it toward your new purchase. If you owe more than it's worth, the remaining balance can usually be rolled into the new loan. Mention your trade-in in the application and we'll take it from there.
What interest rate should I expect?
It depends on your credit profile, income, the vehicle, and which lender ends up being the right fit. Once you're matched with a dealership, you'll get specific rate options. You never have to accept anything. If the numbers don't work for you, just say so and we can look at other options.
